    Another thing I like a suggest more later versions is a way for users to have access to pre-made characters. They'll serve as references, help users get started with animation, and even modify them to make their own characters. You could add in characters in all sorts of styles realistic or cartoony. BTW I like the design one of the girl characters from one of the images on the websites (the one in the yellow shirt and blue shorts in case you wanna know)

    • @ThymeFromti
      @ThymeFromti 11 днів тому

      Thanks Tetsuya, I appreciate your feedback. I’m glad to hear you liked the design of my girl character on the Seamless3d website. I intend to make some complete characters freely available that are structured the same way as I show in my tutorials but kept artless by keeping all their shapes to cylinders and spheres so that users can feel that all the artwork is theirs. This would offer the option of being able to model a character without needing to extrude or insert control lines, only needing to drag control points to shape the model. I had done something like this before when Seanless3d lacked auto stitching as shown in a video I uploaded 14 years, but the head model was poorly structured, and the tutorial is now horribly outdated. I have a better structured head model you can download from my website. The link is: seamless3d.com/pre-stitched Considering the video got 9.9K views, I very much want to update this video as soon as I get the time. And yes, it would indeed be good to have complete characters with skeletons, rigged, and made for different styles.

    How do I make my own custom palette?

    • @ThymeFromti
      @ThymeFromti 16 днів тому

      Hi TWPLtv, you can change the color of a small color tab to the color of the big color tab by right clicking on the small tab and then selecting ‘set this color tab’. I demonstrate this process in the video ‘Modelling Teeth, Blue Spherical Eyes & Eyelashes for Our Animated Character’, in the middle of the video where I show how to color the eyeballs. Your palette colors are saved to the settings.smls file when you close Seamless3D so this is the file to backup if you want to backup your custom colors. Please let me know if you need any more help.

      Thank you for your interest in Seamless3d PsychMandril. I would love for Seamless3d to be able to run on a Mac. Not owning a Mac presents a problem but I think this can be overcome. I have invested a lot of time to make Seamless3d platform independent, but more work needs to be done before a complete version can run natively on Linux. When that is done, we should be very close to Seamless3d running on a Mac. The rapid advancement in AI technology should make this possible if there are mac users willing to compile the code and make test runs when I get to that level of independence in Seamless3d's code. My current priority is to work on tutorials to establish a clear path for creating an animated model as sophisticated as Lucy but I hope to resume my work on making Seamless3d platform independent later this year. I appreciate your patience and support. Please stay tuned for future updates! Best wishes thyme

    Is there a tutorial on how to animate facial expressions?

    • @ThymeFromti
      @ThymeFromti 3 місяці тому

      Hello Tetsuya, I’ve noticed your impressive skills in character drawing and your experiments with walk and lip-syncing animations. These are areas that will be covered in my upcoming Seamless3d tutorials. My plan is to first focus on evolving a simple rounded face into a more complex one. This will involve tutorials on modeling a nose, defining a chin, and creating a more shapely body. I also aim to demonstrate how to create a simple, easy-to-make female hairstyle and animate a dress. These tutorials are designed to be straightforward so that everyone can follow along. In the process, I will be showing how to model a static smile. This will serve as a stepping stone towards animating different facial expressions using Seamless3d’s morph patch feature. The sequence of these tutorials is based on my current plans and priorities. While I could create a facial animation tutorial next, I have chosen to focus on these other areas first. I hope you understand and find these upcoming tutorials interesting and beneficial. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions. Best Wishes

      Thanks for your feedback The-E-Base. I understand that the new graphical interface for ColorSweeps might take some getting used to, especially if you’re familiar with the old way of doing things. However, I believe that the new features, such as the 3D graphical aid and the automatic calculation of distances in the ColorSweep, will ultimately make the process easier and more intuitive. Your comment is a bit ambiguous, so it would be helpful if you could specify what you found confusing. Was it how to specify the colors? Understanding how the color points curve along the NURBS surface? Or perhaps how a ColorSweep is plugged into a NurbsPatch? Please remember that the functionality of a ColorSweep hasn’t changed. You can still use them in the same way as before. The new features are there to assist you, but they’re not mandatory. I appreciate your patience as you adapt to these changes. If you have any further questions or need clarification on anything, don’t hesitate to ask. Best wishes

      @@ThymeFromti Understandable. Also NURBS patches. They're confusing as well (this time to the point that this is the most specific it can get)

    • @ThymeFromti
      @ThymeFromti 9 місяців тому

      Hi The-E-Base. Thanks for your feedback. I understand that you’re finding some aspects of using NURBS patches in Seamless3D confusing. However, It is important to understand that an artist does not need to understand the complex mathematics behind NURBS patches to use them in Seamless3D. You’ve already used ColorSweeps with specialized nodes like NurbsLathes, which use NURBS patches internally which means you have already experienced using NurbsPatches in a limited way. A ColorSweep plugged into a NurbsLathe functions exactly the same as when it is plugged directly into a NurbsPatch. NurbsPathes offer greater artistic freedom over NurbsLathes by exposing their control points to the artist instead of having their control points controlled by the NurbsLathe's fields. A NurbsLathe is useful for setting up a patch but the artist can get more control from the patch after it has been converted and you currently at least, need to convert to patches if you want to use Nurbs animation. If you don't want to alter the patch after it has been converted you don't have to, you can leave it with the shape it was set up with by the lathe. Nothing is actually converted, the internal patch is simply exposed in place of the lathes fields controlling the shape of the patch. I understand that it can be frustrating when something isn’t clear, and I appreciate your patience. To help me assist you better, could you please specify what exactly you’re finding confusing or difficult? Is it the process of applying ColorSweeps to NURBS patches, or is it something else? Remember, there’s no such thing as a silly question. I’m here to help make your experience with Seamless3D as smooth as possible. kind regards

      Thanks for your question debrawitte8391. You can make non symmetrical characters by using non mirrored patches but because you only need to create one side of the character with mirrored patches, it is easier to begin making them symmetrical. You can switch patches to non mirrored at a later stage to make a non-symmetrical character.

      This bug does not occur when following this tutorial. I have fixed the bug that consistently results in a crash when adding new color points manually using the length button, and the fix will be included in the upcoming version which I plan to upload this month. Please note that the new version has not been uploaded yet, so the fix is not currently available. I appreciate your feedback and suggestions, The-E-Base. As a solo developer, I have to prioritize my time and energy, and focus on the most important tasks first. While adding a ColorSweep button to the Box, Sphere, Lathe, etc. nodes is something I may consider in the future, it’s not currently a high priority for me. The chief purpose of these nodes in Seamless3d III is for initializing the creation of NURBS patches, and once they are converted to patches, the user will have access to a ColorSweep button. I hope this helps to clarify my priorities and approach to development.

      I see you can download the previous version, Seamless3d 3.021 from Softpedia. 3.021 should be ok for all previous tutorials but will lack a number of features worked in for this tutorial and I am not sure if Softpedia has the software on their site or if they just have links to Seamless3d.com. If you try downloading it from there, I would be grateful to hear how it goes. I will continue looking into the matter and see what can be done about it.

      I guess you can download Seamless3d using a VPN. Apparently a growing number of ISPs have taken up blocking little websites like Seamless3d without reasons given making it increasingly difficult to create free open source software.

      What a lovely comment, thank you! I'm delighted that you found seamless3d and that you want to learn it. I'm currently finishing a new tutorial that will show how to create eye sockets, colour eyes and create a simple 3d mouth. I have lots of ideas for more tutorials :)

      Hi The E-Base, Seamless3d has long supported bones. This tutorial belongs to a series: ua-cam.com/play/PL-Jnd67hUQS8WaOCWJ7JrmjTN9dvMMe5u.html that begins with the "How to create an animated character step by step" tutorial, which shows how to model and animate a simple character using bones.

      @@cyber_habanero That's right hermie, The very first seamless avatars I made for Blaxxun Contact used bones but I am having trouble trying to remember what was the first version of Seamless that had a scene tree window where icons were used to represent bones. I have a version of Seamless3d 1.0 running on my computer still but I can't remember what was the short cut key to open the scene tree window, if it had one lol. Perhaps I might find a tutorial for this version on a dusty CD some day :)

      Sorry it took this long the E-Base, I had planned to upload it only a week after the previous video but other events such as Christmas and all the games on sale at bargain prices stole my attention. I have many more follow-up tutorials planned for Seamless3d, but they have been put on hold for a while, as a result of experimenting in how to show, how to create 2-legged, 4-legged and 6-legged walk animations. As is typically the case, this has given me some new ideas leading me to develop some new features for Seamless3d to make it easier to create smoother more lifelike animations but hope to get back to working on the tutorials soon
